The hike up to the summit is a 4,100 ft+ climb making it a long, long dayhike. I completed this hike back in the mid-to-late 1990s and it ranks as one of the toughest I've been on. Your lungs get the workout on the way up, your knees get the punishment on the way down. This is a look at the rocks on the other side of the canyon. There is not much to shelter you from the sun, just lots of rock and desert shrubs.
