'Dont buy from the man', the rangers warned us. The trail that we were hiking on was very close to the city of Boquillas in Mexico. Because of security reasons, the trail to Boquillas has been closed. This has caused some Mexican merchants from Boquillas to sell goods to hikers along the Rio Grande. Apparently, Boquillas used to rely heavily on visitors from Big Bend. This shot was one of the first great views of the Rio Grande. I was surprised to find out that the river was shallow and not wide. The lush vegetation on the banks was uncharacteristic of the desert also.
